Provo Half

Well, I wasn't sure if I would ever do another half after my "near death" experience in Moab, but the addiction got the better of me. (Don't feel like you have to read up on the "exciting" near death experience I posted about earlier--after the race, I swore I had seen a light and was walking/running toward it, but I realized it was just me nearly passing out after the run...) Training didn't go as well this time around, as it did for the last one. I just kind of got to a point where I was sick of "having to" run. In the last two weeks before the half, I ran once for five miles, so needless to say I was feeling a little intimidated by the 13.1 miles I had to run last Saturday.
My good friend Catherine, who is in three of my classes at school, was running it with me, so I was glad that there would be a familiar and friendly face along the way. It was her first half, but she did an awesome job! We both hit a wall in various places and felt like the race would never end, but she ended up with a great time and I ended up with nearly the same time as I had in Moab. After not having trained much the last couple weeks, I couldn't really complain. So, Catherine, thanks so much for doing the race with me. I'm not sure if I would have, if I didn't know I'd have some encouragement along the way from you. You're the best!
P.S. Sorry for the short post, but it's finals week and I have 2 paper, 4 presentations and 1 test to prepare for. So, gotta go!

My husband Mike ran that marathon too! He had to do it with the ROTC, they were training for the ranger competition at West Point. He did the two person relay and him and his partner came in first in that part. He is commissioning at the end of this summer, YAY!!! anyway I thought I would say Hi and good job on the running!

WHOOOHOOO~! Great job. I'm glad you're having a good time in your "spare" (ahem) time! Running is a great lifetime sport, and you're looking like you're doing a great job of it!
