Lions and Tigers and Bears...OH MY!

Well, so far, NOT so good..... I had a feeling it would be difficult for me to keep updated on this, but I will stick to it and hopefully when things calm down a bit, the posts will be more frequent.

Well, tonight looked like it was going to be a quiet night, by myself, once the girls went to bed. (By quiet, I mean me and the clicking of the keys on the computer while I did my homework-ahhh, my life.) Joe, as most of you know, is in Law School at BYU and some law group was having a camp out up the canyon. He was so excited to have a little time with Luke, doing "man" stuff. Luke was excited too, or so I thought, until this afternoon he asked me a very loaded question. "Mommy, are we going into the forest to camp?" "MmmHmm." I said cautiously, guessing what was coming. "Are there bears in the forest?" Ah crap-"Well.... yes Luke, but not where you'll be. Besides, bears are scared of people-we're so loud! You have nothing to worry about, Luke. Your daddy will keep you safe." He nodded and I breathed a sigh of relief, realizing that me and my alone time had barely made it out alive.
All was set, seats out of the back of the van, inflatable mattress-(hey, we don't claim to be hard core campers), and marshmallow. The girls and I waved goodbye and my quiet time started shortly after. There is something about being alone, these days, that I just love. Even if it's grocery shopping, at Wal-mart, at 10:30 at night, I am all for it. Maybe it's the lack of it that makes me crave it so badly. Who knows, but I was enjoying it, maybe too much, because not 2 hours after they left my phone starts to ring. The campsite was way out there, so I was surprised (and nervous) to see that it was Joe. When I picked up the phone, all he said was, "We're about 5 minutes from home." "Bears?" was my reply and like that, my evening alone shattered into a million tiny pieces all because of my need to feel honest.

Next time, I decided, I would lie!!

My attempt at Journaling

Well, I've decided to take a hop onto the blogging bandwagon. I don't claim to be a scrapbooker, even in the slightest. So, this is my attempt at clinging to the many memories life is giving me, which will undoubtably be forgotten in a matter of days. We'll see how this goes... Wish me luck.

P.S. Will someone please tell me why I'm not allowed to use exclaimation points?
