A little plug for some friends

Our friends from Conneticut and West Point, Brad and Amanda, have some exciting news. Brad decided he wanted to make (write and publish) a book for thier daughters to teach them about some of the people in the Book of Mormon. He had planned on doing it and just binding it at Kinko's, but Amanda thought it was publish-worthy and he gave it a try. They found out that it has been accepted and is now up for sale here or at amazon.com. Take a look. It's called "Who's who in the Book of Mormon" by Brad Ballard. Just from the posts he's written on their blog and knowing what I do about him, it is sure to be entertaining. Give it a look!

Midnight Sun...Edward's version of Twilight

Ahhhh....I am seriously a geek. My sister-in-law called me totally excited, to tell me that there is a new book coming out by Stephenie Meyer about Edward's version of the story we hear from Bella in the series. For those of you interested, click here. She is providing the first chapter of it.(Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the hyperlink) I haven't read it yet, but I can tell it will only add fuel to my fire!!!

A trip down memory lane....

1. Add a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments. I can't wait to see what people remember.

Obsession continued....

Well, in a matter of 6 days, I have gotten caught up on the series (after a couple of nights of 2 hours of sleep--can you say obsessed?) and am waiting (im)patiently for the final book. I am pathetically involved with this series, to the point that when I woke up yesterday, I had a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach worrying about who Bella will choose--those of you who have read it know what I mean and feel my pain!!--and deciding that if it went one way (Jacob), I would throw the book at the wall. Tell me your feelings-those of you who have read it and have an opinion. I know I am making it out like it is real life, (I promise I know it is a story), but Edward is just too wonderful to get the shaft!! Am I right?
"Hello, my name is Andrea and I am addicted to Edward."
You know ya'll are too!!!

Behind the times...

I know I am totally behind the times with this post, but those of you who have read this book (& the series) know how I am feeling when I say that I am absolutely bursting to tell everyone that I know about it. Crazy, but since beginning this book, I have been unable to put it down and since finishing it, unable to put it out of my mind. On our trip over from Utah to Colorado, Joe was, to say the least, perturbed that I had begun the book once he realized I would be of absolutely no use, since I could do nothing but read. Every time I had to set it down to help settle the kids, I was annoyed and obviously so. Once we got to the Park and Ride to pick up his car in Denver, I volunteered to drive the car back to the hotel. Don't ask me how I know, because I won't tell you, but it is very difficult to read and drive at the same time. Obviously, I was/am obsessed.

Last night I had a night of sleep that competed with the first few weeks of each of my children's lives. Except with this, I wanted to be awake, so I could finish the book that was making me crazy not knowing what was going to happen. When so many of my friends carried on about this book and told me what the subject matter revolved around,--those of you who have read know--I rolled my eyes and was in no hurry to begin. But I finally gave in and decided with school out for the summer, I was going to see what the fuss was about and start my new book. Life has not been the same since. Dramatic? Maybe, but it's the truth. I seriously cannot stop thinking about it and may end up going mad waiting to read the next one. (Once back in UT, I will be buying the entire series, so I don't have to wait any longer for the rest of them.) On my run today, while replaying as much of the story through in my mind, I decided that before I started on "New Moon," I was going to read "Twilight" again, so I could catch the things I missed the first time through; now knowing the ending and revel in the overwhelming romance of it. And those of you who have not picked up this amazing book, from one skeptic to another, you will not regret it....unless, of course, you value your sleep. :)

Happy Day!

For weeks now, I have checked the blog of my good friend Theresa on a daily basis. Her family and ours, lived just blocks from each other in Colorado and us women became very close during the deployments of our husbands--which spanned the same year. The reason I have been checking her blog so often, is because her husband, again, was coming to the end of a looong deployment and her and her THREE kids (and the rest of her friends and family) have been anxiously awaiting his safe arrival. I am SO happy to report that my daily blog check today was a nostalgic and joyful one when I saw that he had finally returned home to his family. I just want to publicly thank all of them for their sacrifice and devotion to our country and the freedom we hold so dear. It is because of their sacrifice, that we live in such an amazing place. With Joe being gone for these few months, I am feeling a teeny, tiny taste of life as a single mom with three kids. However, Theresa has been going for MUCH longer and has had to live with the daily, very real fear that he might not come home. She is an example and strength to me and I just want her to know that. I am so happy for you Theresa and tears fill my eyes as I think of the joy you are feeling today!!

All our love,

The Jorgensens

A new leaf!!

So, Luke has been sucking his finger (as seen in the above picture) since he was about 8 months old. I'm not sure what traumatic experience started it, but it has stuck for a VERY long time! However, I am happy to announce that he has finally turned the corner and decided, on his own, that he was ready to be done. He went to the dentist on Thursday, last week, and I'm not sure what kinds of bargains/threats the dentist made, but Luke came home and hasn't sucked his finger since. I have gone into his room before going to bed just to check, since that and tv watching were the times he did it most and I haven't seen him doing it then either. Joe and I are SO excited, because we were planning on spending $300 on an appliance (sounds scary, doesn't it?) to go in his mouth that would pretty much just take away the option of sucking all together, not to mention the braces. Anyway, with 3 babies and all three being finger/thumb suckers, Joe and I fully intend on forcing any future chidren to use a binky--you can snip the end of a binky off, but unfortunately, you don't have that option with fingers.
