More catching up....

Well, my poor girls weren't blessed with a beauty savvy mommy, so I have to make do with what I've got. When I was in Wal-mart the other day, I found these sponge curlers; the same kind my mom put in my hair as a little girl and decided that if my mom could, so could I. The final result was pretty, but Karin, we will be headed to your salon for the damage control as a result of the rats nest that occurred the morning after. Poor, thin hair--I blame Joe for that! :-)

After, seriously, a year, the hole of dirt that was to become our sand box has been framed with cement and filled with sand.....if only all the trucks that were meant for it hadn't been broken in the interim.

Well, since I am technologically challenged and I don't know how to do a stinkin' slide show, here is the next section of my last blog.

Life around our house has been a little crazy and the other night was no different. Part of the craziness must be contributed to the personality of our Kate. She is our little "Tazmanian Devil." She runs around the house from one thing to the next wreeking havoc wherever she goes. Once I had gotten her out of the tub that night, I finished getting her dressed while Jozlyn continued to play. As I was putting things away, I heard the girls giggling and walked into the bathroom and this is what I saw... I had to laugh and grab my camera--apparently she wasn't ready to get out! :)

For Luke's birthday, we got him some new clubs, since Joe was tired of finding his clubs strewn all around the backyard, because Luke may be a little obsessed. So, to his delight, we found him some clubs that fit his "little" body and he is picking it up quickly. In fact, just the other day he nailed the ball and sent it flying into the neighbors garbage can--that was, thankfully, in front of their truck. We retired the clubs for that day and had a lesson on the consequences of hitting other people's things with not-so-softly-hit golf balls. :-) (Watch out neighbors....) Summer came......

and left. But, I think it may finally be here to stay! It hasn't been quite as hot as a normal June in Utah, but you won't find me complaining. I love the way the weather has been and if it never gets over 80 degrees, I will be perfectly okay with it. Although, I know that would never happen and it's only a matter of time before we are holing ourselves up in a dark house for the afternoon.

And I had to put this one in. Kate puts up with this kind of "abuse" on a daily basis and I think she would appreciate knowing that the rest of the world (or at least the readers of our blog) know what she goes through.

P.S. ARIANE!!!! (At least I think it was you.) I need your blog address so I can see what's going on in your family. Crazy, but SO good, to hear from you!

I'm behind.....again!

Well, lots has happened since I posted last. I won't mention anything about how the series with the Jazz ended, because I am still slightly emotional about it. (sniff....sniff) :-) More importantly though, my Jozlyn turned 3, Luke graduated from Preschool, Kate jumped in the tub fully dressed (I'll explain...), Summer came.....and left and I started a new semester at school.

Jozlyn turned 3 on April 22--yeah, yeah, yeah, I know I am behind! (see "new semester" above) --and we had a lot of fun celebrating her big day. I had a blast making her a butterfly cake for the party with the Bingham family (Thanks for the idea H!) and Jozlyn had a blast digging into it. Once a month, my extended family in Utah get together for dinner and this time they all surprised us with balloons and presents for Jozlyn's birthday. It was so sweet and Jozlyn absolutely loved the attention! For her actual birthday, we had a small party for just our little family with cake and ice cream and a pink bike with streamers. She had such a great day and totally has the hang of the big girl bike with training wheels. I love my little girl so much and love the spunk that she brings to our family. Her personality is electric and I love having her around to brighten my days! Happy "Belated" Birthday, Jozlyn! We love you!!

GO JAZZ!!!

It was a frustrating roller-coaster ride, but the series is over with the Jazz on top and our family couldn't be happier.

Now it's on to LA where life will be 10x as stressful!!

Girls' Night!! (Thanks for the pics Chels!)

Well, after a long semester and since no one has taken me up on my Mustique idea, I got to do the next best thing. While in Connecticut, I made some of the best friends EVER and this weekend I had a slumber party with 2 of them (We missed you T and K!) Malissa flew in from Conn and we met up a Chelsea's house--whose husband graciously (and smartly) bowed out and went down to Idaho with his family--and had a blast like we hadn't missed a day. Luke and Joe went camping, while I kept mum on any bear stories (see earlier post) and I dropped the girls off at my lovely sis-in-laws house and spent some girl time with 2 of my most favorite. We went to dinner, got our toes done, watch "The Holiday" (LOVED IT!!!!), highlighted my hair (thanks Chels!) and even did a little ear candle action (see pic above)-AMAZING!! :) It was the best way I could have imagined starting off my Spring Semester. After thoroughly enjoying our time together, the three of us decided that we would pretty much force Tina and Kelli to join us in August for the Hobble Creek Half Marathon. After some convincing.....uh, forcing (not big fans of running-some have been known to go as far as saying they are "allergic" to it) :-) we are now set to have all of us back together for the first time since Mustique, almost 5 years ago....(right girls?) It'll be amazing to be together and to accomplish something like this together as well. I love these girls and can't wait for our reunion. I suggest all you mommies out there take some time for yourself and rejuvenate with some good friends. I guarantee you'll come home feeling refreshed and your family will thank you for it!!
